Ford Focus ST

On the surface, it\’s a weak hot hatch, it\’s on the scale of a Honda Civic Type-R from 0 to such a weak 2-3, less gears, little aggression. what differentiates the ST from a regular Focus is what we don\’t see These are the changes. The Focus ST is 10 mm lower, has stiffer springs, adaptive dampers, bigger and stronger brakes, a refined front suspension, and Michelin tires on 19-inch wheels. In the interior, the car has Recaro seats, a sport steering wheel, steeper gear changes, extreme gear changes separated by two revolutions, and most importantly, a 280bhp 2.3L aluminum four-cylinder turbo that doesn\’t stop pushing when overdriven, following the Ford GT\’s lead. and, for the first time, with an electronic self-locking differential that can send 100% of its 420 Nm of torque to a single wheel, even predictably.

The adaptive dampers work well even in normal mode. From the moment you start driving, you can feel that the car wants more and is quite sporty. In Sport mode, the chassis becomes much stiffer, and the car grips the road surface more firmly. The first thing you feel is the pull. There is even a sawing sound at high rpms. The brakes should be four times harder to fade, and though it doesn\’t look like it, the Ford Focus ST is fun, brutal, and fast.

The mode change is felt primarily in the traction control, which in Normal, Sport, and Slippery modes stops the engine when slipping, but in Track mode spins it to the limiter. Ford in general, and the Focus in particular, has always had an excellent, even playful chassis. How is the Ford Focus ST as an everyday car? In my opinion, perfectly fine. The seats are sporty, but comfortable, and there is plenty of room in the back seat. The ST consumes about 7.5 L/100 km on the highway and 8 L/100 km in the city. The cheapest model is priced at 767k. CZK.
